August 16th, 2008 - Watercraft Challenge, Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Registration deadline is August 10, 2008)

Join Extreme Events in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 15th -16th for the Inaugural Personal Watercraft Challenge. This APBA-sanctioned race will require both endurance and skill for individuals to compete.

Pro and Amateur Racers will be challenged in seperate classes on a 40 Nautical Mile Course. Stand-ups will compete on an approx. 20 Nautical Mile Course against the elements of the Atlantic Ocean. Both Professional and Amateur Racers alike are invited to race to win cash prizes and the title of “2008 Watercraft Challenge” Champion.

Welcome to the Atlantic Ocean!

Pro- Am Runabout Open Appprox.40 miles 2 Laps

Beginner/ Novice Runabout Open Approx.40 miles 2 Laps

Beginner / Novice Runabout Stock Approx.40 miles 2 Laps

Pro-Am Jet Ski Open Approx.20 miles 1 Lap

Beginner/ Novice Jet Ski open Approx. 20 Miles 1 Lap

Rules

SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY

1) All racers must be properly registered to enter race in various classes.

2) Minimum age is 16 years with proper boating license and parent’s or legal guardian’s written consent. (See Registration Page)

3) All racers must register on WWW.APBARACING.COM as indicated on registration page.

4) All racers must go on WWW.APBARACING.COM and read, understand and accept all rules and conditions set by the (APBA) American Power Boat Association. This acknowledgement must be indicated on Application Page. Membership in APBA required ($25.00 one-time Membership Fee).

5) There will be NO alcoholic beverages or illegal substances allowed on the beach. Katt’s Famous Tiki Bar is located on the premises. Any racers deemed under the influence will be excluded from any and all water event activities at the discretion of Extreme Events.

6) There will be a mandatory Racers Meeting Aug. 15th 6:30 P.M at Ocean Point Resort. All racers must be present to be eligible to race. (No Refunds will be issued). Parking arrangements will be discussed at this meeting.

7) Should cancellation of race be deemed necessary due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, an alternative date will be determined.

8) There will be no fueling on the beach.

9) Please respect and have consideration for sea turtle season and all other wildlife.

10) All necessary safety equipment required (eg.helmet ,approved life jacket , etc.)
